Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD PS3 Pushed to March 18th

Square Enix announced this week that the PS3 HD Remake of Final Fantasy X/X-2 has been pushed back to March 18st. Previously announced for Winter, the remix features the International Version of both games as well as an extended ending for X-2. Much like the Kingdom Hearts remaster, pre-ordering will net you a collector's edition package with an art book. If you missed out on the KH1.5 one like me, make sure you pre-order this beauty. SE did not say anything about the Vita versions of the games but I assume they will come out on the Playstation Store around the same time as the release of this game. Check out the new trailer below:

Square Enix must of finally teamed up with Sucker Punch for an attack on my wallet, as inFamous: Second Son comes out on the 21st of March and also has a much desired Collector's Edition.  ;  ;

Titan Breaks Ground in Eorzea, and I don't want to be anywhere near his Navel. (Delayed Titan Post)

The Primal summoned by the Kobold race has been released and been terrorizing (At-least in his hard-mode) the adventurers of Eorzea sense Realm Reborn's release back in September '13. Between his ability to crush his enemies with a simple step to being able to perma-kill players by knocking them off of his battle arena, Titan has been the cause of many rage induced players. Did I mention he also has probably one of the most bad-ass music themes in Final Fantasy history? I'll get back to that in a moment, but let's take a look at Titan through-out the ages.

Titan first appeared in FFIII as a summon before becoming a boss fight (and then later summon) in FFIV when a young Rydia summons him to battle against Cecil & Kain. He then returns in IV the After Years when summoned by an unknown enemy who bares a striking resemblance to Rydia. Titan then returns to his role as a boss for FFV where he once again must be defeated to be used as a summon. Skipping VI, Titan appears again as a summon in the form of Materia in FFVII with an attack that literally pulls the ground from under an enemy and flattens them. Titan would then move on to appear next to Fenrir in FFIX assisting the summoner Eiko.

As the Avatar of the Earth Element for Final Fantasy XI, Titan would become a powerful ally to Summoners with his ability to grant the party increased damage resistance. It was here Titan would be given a back-story where he was once part of a tribe of giants who fell during a battle against a neighboring enemy. One day a young girl named Daemdalus would stumble across the weakened Titan, befriending the fallen giant. When the city found out about this discovery they decided that the giant needed to be executed to protect the city and it's people. In a desperate attempt to save Titan, Daemdalus threw herself in front of Titan to protect him. Watching the from the heavens, Altana summoned both Daemdalus and Titan's souls into heaven and blessed Titan with the power of the Earth. Thus becoming the Earth Celestial Avatar we know now. Daemdalus was also transform into a star and placed in Titan's constellations.

Titan would then skip XII (yet appear in it's sequel) and return to a main numbered game in Final Fantasy XIII. Residing as a Fal'Cie of Grand Pulse, Titan's height would reach the havens. Tall enough to eat an Adamantoise like they were a small cookie. Titan would remain one of the mainstream summons in future Final Fantasy spin-off games as well as other SquareEnix titles. I mentioned earlier that Titan had a bad-ass song that played during the battle, didn't I? Check it out and let me know what you think!

BBC TV's Sherlock Gets It's Second Manga Adaptation

London's Consulting Detective returns to Japanese manga form this December 4th. The second episode, The Blind Banker, will be transformed into Manga again by artist Jay. If you never got a chance to read the first manga based on the "Study in Pink" episode, a simple Google search will lead you to numerous places to check it out. Personally I have not had a chance to see the manga adaptation but I have heard good things about the art style.

Before you even start commenting about Shonen-Ai, remember that the actor of Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch beat you too it.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL Comes Stateside on November 22nd!

Nintendo bares wonderful news to Zelda fans who have been hearing rumors of a Zelda themed 3DS on the horizon. With the release of the new 3DS Zelda title, A Link Between Worlds, comes a brand-new 3DS. While, in my opinion not as fancy as the original Zelda theme 3DS, this one is still quite lovely to look at. For those pining for a 3DS XL upgrade and missed the Pokemon X/Y ones, this one might be for you.

The 3DS XL (Or LL as it is in Japan) will be released November 22nd with price tag of $219.99. Keep in mind, though the price is higher than a standard 3DS XL, you'll be receiving an downloadable copy of the new Zelda game as well! Sorry Vita, I think I need to skip you again this year..

Final Fantasy XIV - "Crystal's Call" E3 2013 Trailer

As another E3 passes by we are left with a little more information of the once battered world of FFXIV. As the Beta moves into it's third (out of four) phases, Producer & Director Yoshi-P brought us two trailers for players to see how far along the game has come thus far. The first is a trailer called "Crystal's Call" in which numerous cut-scenes are played with full voice acting to show off the epic storyline to come. Check it out and I'll tell you my feelings about it shortly.

Epic trailer bogged down by what seems to me like rushed voice acting. I am looking forward to this game as if I am awaiting a return of a great friend, but I dearly hope that most of these voices are recorded again or that we are given the choice of switching the default language to Japanese. I'm not complaining about the voices themselves but perhaps a little more passion is needed for some of these scenes. Other then that, the scenes themselves look great considering this is an MMO. After my vacation from FFXI on SWtOR and DCU, I can tell not all MMORPGs can make epic scenes such as this.

E3 also gave us more information regarding the Arcanist class which will be a Damage/Heal over time class aided by our little blue friend Carbuncle. This is also the first time in FFXIV that a single class can become two separate jobs: Scholar, who focuses on team support with help of a grimore and a pixie friend & the previously announced Summoner, who is given a fraction of power from the Primal Gods to assist the party in damage, tanking, and more. Hopefully this will be the start of a second job choice for the other classes as well. May I speculate for a moment? Let's say we may be looking at a future where a Pugilist could not become a Monk but perhaps become a Ninja as well? Marauder's second choice being a Samurai? Archer to Corsair? Conjurer becoming a Red Mage? The possibilities in my mind are endless. ^^x

Project X Zone - U.S. Release Trailer 2

Check out the attached trailer for Bandai Namco's awesome 3DS cross over, Project X Zone. If you can't wait to try it out there is a demo on the Nintendo 3DS eShop that will toss you right into battle with Ryu, Ken, Kite, Black Rose, Soma, and many more. Any fan of the Super Robot Wars game will also be interested in this epic three-way cross over. Due out later this month!

Here is hoping it can tide me over for a few. ^^x

Final Fantasu XIV: A Realm Reborn Release Date Announced

August 27th, 2013. The day that adventurers can truly return to the realm that has gone though some major overhauls. The time has come "To heed the crystal's call," or at least that is what we are being told. Truth of the matter is this: Doesn't matter if you played the original FFXIV, been a long time FFXI player, or just someone looking for a new world to explore - FFXIV: A REALM REBORN is coming our way.

Pre-orders have began for the final PC and PS3 release of the game on the official site.
Now anyone who has an account with the original game will be able to download the Realm Reborn client for free. Pre-ordering will also net you some neat in-game items as well as early access to the game. Before you get all excited about early access, remember that when an MMO server first opens to the public there is plenty of down time, lag, and updates to go around! Am I pre-ordering? Hell yes.

Also announced was the limited edition version of the game which comes with more then enough goodies to merit the increased price tag. Players who currently have accounts with the previous game can obtain the online special edition goodies for a small up-charge as well. This means the game will run you anywhere between $20-$80 depending on your preference and situation. Either way you go, I can't wait to see you out there adventuring!

On that note, once my group decides on a server we will be creating a Linkshell for social, storyline, and events. I will be posting here once the server name is decided and of course I will be posting my in game name as well. 3 months to save enough money to pay for 3 copies of the game is going to hurt my game buying addiction, but oh well!

Voice Actress Kotono Mitsuishi Reprises Roll for new S.H. Figure Sailor Moon!

Sailor Moon is back, and now in S.H. Figure form! In the below video, voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi reprises her role as the title character, Sailor Moon. The figure comes with 4 faces (Serious, Smiling, Winking, Crying), Moon Tiara weapon, two crescent moon wands, and Luna.

Figure will run you about $44 which isn't to bad considering that it's Sailor Moon. ^^ Due to be released May 8th.

FFXIV: Magitek Armor Preview

The FFXIV dev team will try using the "Nostalgia Card" when the Realm Reborn introduced ride-able Magitek Armor. It's unknown if it is just a mount to ride or if it will actually be able to be used in battle with the fearsome beasties across the land. Please watch the video below for a short preview of what is to come in our new world.
If anyone finds the scene and music they are playing strangely familer, it could be because the music is a remix of the opening of Final Fantasy VI. If I saw this video without the FFXIV logo at the begining, I would of thought that FFVI was being remade for modern consoles. That would also please me. ^^ Check out the video itself and let me know if FFVI nostalgia will get you into the Realm Reborn.

Looks exciting despite the fact that the trailer is kind of generic. ^^;

FFXI: Seekers of Adoulin Update 3/27/13

Okay, so sorry for the delay. This most recent expansion has distracted me enough not only to miss my blog but also in participating in other online events. Here is a quick over-view of the most recent update:

March 27, 2013 (JST) Version Update

Event-related

======================================
The content of this version update, which includes new expert jobs and new areas, may not be played until Wednesday, March 27 (PDT) or Thursday, March 28 (GMT) even if the necessary software and expansion content has been installed earlier. (Time to get nostalgic while we all have a 6 hour download!)
======================================
  • Seekers of Adoulin brings with it several new items displayed in the main menu as outlined below.

    • Missions
      Seekers of Adoulin

    • Quests
      Adoulin
      Coalitions (42 in all!)

    • Region Info.

    * Monstrosity will be selectable once the content is introduced into the game.
  • The following areas have been introduced with Seekers of Adoulin:

(Another Expansion means another pretty girl!)
  • Defeating monsters in Seekers of Adoulin areas will occasionally cause a strange mirage known as a "Soul Pyre" to appear.
If the player touches a Soul Pyre from the proper distance and direction, he will receive items and/or bayld. (Kick me in the ass; I just read this and now I know what those damn things do. )
  • Gathering activities in the Seekers of Adoulin expansion areas are governed by a new rule.
Continuing to gather resources in the same area will build a character's fatigue, much like fishing, but will also gradually increase the likelihood of gathering better materials.
    * Moving to a new area will reset both effects.
    * Fatigue recovers over time.
(Fatigue returns to help players from FFXIV feel nostalgic. Yep, don't have anything original to say here..)

Certain pieces of equipment and key items that aid in gathering activities throughout Eastern Ulbuka have also been introduced.
  • New battle content known as "Reives" have been added. (These kind of work like Bastion but are significantly tougher.)

  • The following adjustments have been made to the Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survey Assault content.
    • Levels of monsters appearing in this content have been adjusted.
    • By selecting damage types that monsters are weak to, such as blunt attacks, piercing attacks, or magic attacks, players are able to deal more damage than before.
  • The following adjustments have been made to Legion.
    • Characteristics have been given to monsters appearing within the maquette.
Reductions in HP, attack, defense values, and other statistics as well as methods of attacking monsters' weaknesses comprise the majority of these changes, but some monsters have experienced decreases in some areas and increases in others.
  • The following adjustment has been made to Einherjar.
    • The HP, attack, defense, and other characteristics of "Odin" as appearing in Odin's Chamber II have been decreased.
  • The following adjustment has been made to Voidwatch.
    • Void Clusters are now able to be used in the Provenance jurisdiction.
  • The following adjustments have been made to Walk of Echoes.

      Frayed Sack (D) / Frayed Sack (L)
  • Adjustments have been made to Salvage drop rates.
  • The following adjustments have been made to Limbus:
    • Items necessary to enter Limbus will be collected upon entry.
    • Items necessary for entering Limbus are no longer exclusive.
Accordingly, any of the appropriate items in one's possession that have already been used at the time of implementation may be used again.

Battle-related

  • Two new jobs, geomancer and rune fencer, are now available.

Specific quests must be completed in order to obtain each job.
    Read on for the details.
    * The level 70 to 71 limit break quests for geomancers and rune fencers is scheduled to be implemented in the next version update. In order to level geomancers and rune fencers past 70 before the applicable quests are implemented, players may instead complete a limit break quest for another job.
  • New monsters have been introduced to roam the areas appearing in Seekers of Adoulin.

  • The amount of enmity accumulation based upon how much damage players deal to a target and the amount of HP it can recover will be reduced when facing targets over level 50. (I felt this while using SMN out in the new areas. It hurts.)
Should the target be level 99 or higher, this type of enmity accumulation will be reduced by approximately thirty percent.
In addition, testing to reduce the amount of enmity accumulated from using the white magic spell Cure V is ongoing.
    * The static type of enmity accumulation—not based on damage dealt and HP recovered—will remain the same.
    * Additional adjustments regarding enmity are also scheduled to be implemented.
  • The attack-to-defense ratio has undergone adjustment.
When a player's level is vastly lower than the level of the monster attacking him, there will now be times when he will take much more damage than before.
  • The maximum amount of damage dealt based upon the attack-to-defense ratio is now the same for both one-handed and two-handed weapons. (:/)
  • Level differential corrections have been adjusted.
Level differential corrections will now be made when an enemy is two levels higher than the player, and will mirror those previously made when an enemy was one level higher than a player.
  • The amount which the Monk ability Counterstance lowers one's defense has been reduced.
  • The white magic spell Embrava has undergone the following adjustments. (NERFED!)

Pretty big update, huh? Adoulin is a pretty big place. If you haven't had an opportunity to visit it yet, think back to 8 years ago when you first walked out of Kazham and had to find the EXP party you just got invited too. Scary, big, and a little confusing. Adoulin promises to bring back the difficulty that Abyssea abolosihed. I'd say it's doing it's job pretty damn well. New gear has been updated too which makes you think that SE is trolling us for making fun of PUP gear. I look forward to see more of what this new world has to offer. I also look forward to seeing this girl more:

Stay tuned.

New Pokemon.. looks awfully familiar...

A new teaser trailer from the Pokemon Company introduces a new Pokemon and gives us zero information about it. Check out the trailer and you may either become intrigued or in-ranged depending on your perspective.

Some are calling this a "New Form" of Mewtwo and others are calling it an entirely different Pokemon. Mewthree? Mewonepointfive? Maybe even Mewtwo made babies with Freeza from Dragon Ball? Another thing is that this Pokemon is supposed to appear in the newest Pokemon movie featuring Genesect and Mewtwo. More information when the movie hits Japanese theaters on April 18th.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods - Two HD Previews

The official discription of the upcoming, first IMAX released anime, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods film goes as follows:

"Birusu, the god of destruction who has maintained the balance of the universe, has awakened from a 39-year slumber to destroy the planets in his realm. Hearing rumors of a Saiyan (Saiya-jin) who defeated Freeza, Birusu comes looking for Goku.
Excited that a powerful opponent has appeared after so long, Goku ignores King Kai's advice and challenges Birusu in a battle. However, Goku is no match for Birusu's overwhelming power and is defeated. Birusu leaves after uttering an ominous message, “Is there anyone on Earth more worthy to destroy?” Will Goku and the others really be able to stop the God of Destruction?!"

Check out the two clips below where we see Birusu not only take out SSJ3 Goku but some of his friends as well. Never met a cat who was so good with chopsticks.

Final Fantasy X HD & Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD

Bang.

A leaked picture from Jump! Magazine has revealed that FFX-2 will be included with FFX HD remaster. With this in mind, it's probably safe to say that FFX-2 is getting remastered as well considering that a majority of the characters, scenery, and monsters were reused from FFX. While the PS3 version will come with FFX-2 bundled in, the Vita version will be sold separately. (I'm sure all 2 of the Vita owners  Does that mean we should be looking for an on-disk bundle instead of the download that we expected?
What do you mean, you can't read this?
It has been confirmed that both games will be their international releases, giving NA players extra content that was not available for us at the time. With FFX's HD remix giving us the international version for the first time, what is the possibility of the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix doing the same? Why yes, it will! Check out the trailer from PAX!

Now I will warn you - the voice acting from Re: Chain of Memories leaves a lot to be desired for.

So there you have it - both Kingdom Hearts and FFX/X-2 will be the international releases, and boy I am looking forward to that. Even though SE should be working on new titles instead of releasing old ones or rebranding forgotton projects. /GLARE. I'm looking at you FF verses XIII!

Top 10: Great Classic Anime Series.. That I Do Not Own.

Every fan takes pride in their collection big or small. From the humble beginnings of sharing a shelf with my video games to taking up an entire 10' tall shelf, I have always help alot of pride in mine and my fiance's Anime Collection. Though there are many titles that do not grace the collection that we have recently combined but none or worse then the titles that we should of owned for years now. The following is not only a mandatory list of what should of been on myself already but also a sort of wish list to always remind me to keep a watchful eye open. There are two key rules for the following list.. 1. That the series has been out in the US for at least 5 years & 2. That I do not own the series completely already in another form such as VHS or other means. Sadly, I own some of the disks for a few of the following titles yet I never completed collecting them. Disappointing, aren't I? Oh well, enjoy the list!
10. Cowboy Bepop

Truely a great series that has a fantastic habit of reminding me that I saw this series originally almost 15 years ago. Great combination of sci-fi action and cowboy western with epic music and an English dub that helped create a new standard in the industry. Why Don't I Own It? Every time I consider picking it up, I tell myself ".. It'll just be on Adult Swim tonight, so no worries."

9. Mobile Suit Gundam
The mecha series that departed from the popular colorful Voltron-like series of the times. It took awesome mechs and tossed in some deep story telling and some drama that would make the shows your mom watches in the afternoon to shame. After all, it's not every day that a single anime series can spawn an entire culture phenomenon. Why Don't I Own It? I've been waiting to find the movie box-set at a decent price. I just can't bring myself to spend $50 on the Gundam series when that money could go to a model kit. ^^;
8. Vandread

Women are monsters! Men are on the defense as the Women attack from space with their superior technology. When one man accidental finds himself stranded on an all female ship, he goes from prisoner to ace pilot when the crew discovers that his mech can attach to the women's superior mobile ships, creating a super-powered mech capable of amazing things. It's as if women and men were meant to work together.. I think? Why Don't I Own It? I honestly have no excuse for this one now that Funimation has began releasing Pioneer's old anime in affordable box sets.

7. Vampire Princess Miyu T.V.
The classic series of the Vampire Princess. Miya and her servant Larva continue to purge the world of the evil demons known as Shinma. Why Don't I Own It? Honestly, I'm 2 DVDs short of owning it. Other then not being able to find these DVDs at AnimeExpo for the last few years, I have no other excuse. I should just go buy it off Amazon, right?
6. Ghost in the Shell S.A.C.
T.V. series based more on the popular manga then the movie. Follow Major Makoto and the rest of Public Security Section 9 as they take down a criminal organization, a hacker with an popular meme, and a third season that was forced into a movie. Why Don't I Own It? Probably because I can't decide buying the series as a whole or buying the movies based on each season. I'll figure it out eventually.
5. Trigun
Vash has a mighty big bounty on his head and everyone he seems to run into wants him either for the bounty or to hire. Except for a couple of insurance agents who have to deal with the casualties that follow Vash what he would consider a normal day. Why Don't I Own It? I don't own it because I fail at buying it. Every time I have the series in my hand and ready to buy, I end up swapping it out with something else. I'm a terrible fan.

4. Sailor Moon T.V.

The original Shojo anime that created a majority of American Otaku back in the 90s, including myself. Usagi is a normal school girl who worries about love and final exams, until she is given the power to turn into Sailor Moon - A hero for love and justice and for fanboy dreams everywhere, and that means you. Why Don't I Own It? Anyone who owns this series in it's entirety as an official English release deserves an award. It's about time the rights for this series expires so Funimation can gobble it up and crap out some glorious looking box sets. PLEASE FUNI! Finish the job that ADV could not!

3. Dragon Ball
Goku begins his adventure by first battling then befriending everyone he meets. Seriously, if you don't believe me: He fought Bulma (Actually, her car.) and then became her friend, he fought Yamucha, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Vegeta, #18, Buu, and plenty of other enemies and then they became his friends. So keep that in mind people, when you fight Goku you either die or become his friend. NO EXCEPTIONS. Why Don't I Own It? I own DBZ and GT, but I only own the first box for Dragon Ball. For the longest time I didn't feel the need to own it as I have the manga up to where Goku and Chichi gets married. Now I am finally collecting them starting with volume 1.

2. Tenchi Muyo OAV/T.V.

Tenchi lives a normal life until he meets the demon Ryoko. From there, he finds out he's the prince of an alien race, betrothed to a Princess, and finds new roommates in a galactic scientist and a member (members) of the Galaxy Police. One of the best classic anime of our times. If you ever bought a VHS with Tenchi in the title, then you had an awesome life. Why Don't I Own It? Back to Pioneer and their expensive box sets. Luckily Funimation has swallowed the rights and released snazzy box sets. I only wish they went threw and remastered them, but oh well. I actually just bought the Universe box set as I was typing. >.>

1. Ranma 1/2

Blockbuster video has a small anime collection at the time and a VHS of Ranma 1/2 was there looking at my new-born Otaku eyes. I literally had to pay $50 in overdue payments due to that video leading to the cancellation of my brother's blockbuster account. >.> See above video for the most remembered anime opening ever. Why on Earth Do I Not Own it?!
I blame Viz. HeyViz! Where is my more available box sets? XD I can't afford the ones online!

Thanks for reading! ^^

Sorry for the delay!

February has been an insane month so far. I've taken up some extra responsibilities at work, returned to High School 10 years later (Yep, I was a drop out!), and adopted two very needy puppies. I promise to get back to posts this week once I catch up on homework. ^^; Till then, enjoy free time if you got it!

Possibly the coolest looking weapons to date. It's a shame that most Samurai and Warriors already use either relics or empy weapons.

System-related
  • When trading with other players, information regarding the number of items you possess will now display while the trade window is open. (Thank you for this one SE, but honestly: Who has that few items on them?)

Resolved Issues
  • The following issues have been rectified:
    • The issue wherein the Spinet furnishing would not play certain songs even when placed in one's Mog House.
    • The issue wherein the damage bonus based on dexterity for the thief ability Sneak Attack would activate even when thief was set as a support job.
    • The issue wherein changing the number of character models displayed under "Misc." in the Config menu would also change the cursor position for the Icon Type setting.

Known Issues
  • Receiving the effects of Warp II, Teleport, or Retrace during a cutscene in a town occasionally skips the cutscene.
  • The item Vihuela cannot yet be delivered to characters belonging to different accounts.
  • Using the black magic spell Kaustra does not properly count towards completing "dark-based status ailment" objectives in Trial of the Magians.
  • The Abyssea-Tahrongi NM Cuelebre can become the target of melee attacks at all times under certain conditions.
  • The rate at which participants in Ballista and Brenner competitions receive temporary items remains unintentionally high under certain circumstances.
  • Absorbing the effect of a song while under the effect of a Phantom Roll occasionally negates the Phantom Roll effect.

Coming To America: Project X Zone & One Piece Pirate Warriors 2

We knew the next entry in Koei's brawl-em-all would eventually hit our shores over here in N. America, but here we go again.. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 be only available for the PS3 via Playstation Network. I actually really would love a physical release so I could play it at my friends house. Hell, I still have to review the first game. >.> This second entry in the series brings back everything you know and love from the first game and includes new versions of Luffy and his crew as well as characters missing from the first game such as Eneru and the Skypiea Arc. Hopefully it either got rid of or vastly improved the phoned-in platforming of the first game. Sorry Vita owners, if you want to play the Vita version you need to import it. Warrior game release dates are pretty predictable, so expect this game to be download-ready sometime past October 2013.

Still wish they would give us a physical release..

Another great Japanese game is hitting the USA. One that I honestly did not think would make it here. Project X Zone for the 3DS is a RPG that crosses generations of characters from Namco/Bandai, Sega, and Capcom. Like games such as Super Robot Wars and Shonen Jump Superstars that had issues making it outside Japan, Projectt X Zone brings over 50 characters from the three companies together in a fight against some random darkness that probably won't be as memorable as the characters that you get to see. This game looks great despite the fact that it did not sell to expectations. I look forward to a nice 3DS RPG that will star characters from games that may never come to America. Looking at you VC3. -.-;
The 'X' is read as "cross." I guess we should call it Project Cross Zone, which would make more sense.

Final Fantasy - XIII-3's new character & the offical announcement for "All the Bravest!"

There is nothing like being trolled by one of your favorite video game companies. Our good friends at SquareEnix just may of trolled us three times. Not once, not twice, but potentially thrice. We start today with the announcement found in this week's Weekly Shonen Jump!

Warning - Just had some dental work done. I may be a little more grumpy then usual.

It looks like Lightning not only has 13 days and 13 nights to save the world in FFXIII-3, but now has a new character to deal with. No one can say if this new character will be assisting Lightning or if she will be a problem for our heroin, but I can say this: She is either really familiar looking or Nomura no longer has original ideas for characters. Her name is Lumina and she will be heavily cosplayed as by March. First potential troll goes to Mr. Noruma for leaving us with this tease of a "new" character. We'll see when the game comes out this year.

Next up is a double-combo troll for some fans. Some of you may of been paying attention to the teaser site the SquareEnix posted the other day. It showed off some 16-bit silhouettes of a couple of Behemoths from FFVI as well as some familiar sprites that look like they were from V or VI. Here we are hoping for a re-release of V or VI. Maybe on the iPhone, Maybe on the 3DS (PLEASE!!) Alas, today SE announced Final Fantasy: All the Bravest. It's a mobile game for iOS that SE is selling as a "touch-action" RPG. Looks a lot like Theatrythem where they replaced the rhythm game with a rapid-ATB battle system. That explains the title! ATB means active-time battle AND All the Bravest!

Final Fantasy: All The Bravest details commence!:

• The Active Time Battle is back with the largest parties in Final Fantasy history!
Final Fantasy: All the Bravest is a touch-action RPG in which you continuously battle enemies to advance through the game's many stages. Defeating foes earns you the experience points you need to level up, which in turns grants you character slots to add more and more members to your party. Combat is based on the classic Active Time Battle (ATB) system of the Final Fantasy series. Every character possesses an ATB gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action. When the gauge is full, simply tap or drag your finger over the character to attack. Touch multiple characters in quick succession to experience exhilarating and fast-paced battle unlike anything you've ever played before! Once every three hours, the Fever option will appear. Once activated, you will be able to attack without waiting for ATB gauges to refill as long as the chocobo-themed music is playing. Deal as much damage as you can before the battle fever ends!
• Characters, enemies, and music from throughout the Final Fantasy series!
Progress through the game to unlock over 20 different classic jobs, including warrior, monk, red mage, and more! Each job brings its own special abilities to the battleground, where you will encounter timeless Final Fantasy foes such as behemoths, bombs, and cactuars. At the end of each stage waits a harrowing encounter with a fiendish Final Fantasy boss!
The game's musical library comes packed with over 30 songs from the series, the majority of which are themes from battle. The perfect soundtrack to listen to as your crush your enemies and see them driven before you!
• Track your collection of every character, enemy, and item with in-game catalogs!
The game's three catalogs will keep a record of every character that joins your ranks, every enemy you encounter, and every item you obtain. Collect them all and open the catalogs to flip through the nostalgia whenever you like!

• Take part in leader-boards and social networking features!
Global leader-boards will rank players based on stats such as the amount of damage dealt in the course of a single Fever. You will also be able to track progress and other feats using the game's achievement system. Social networking features allow you to post directly to Facebook and Twitter, and reward you for doing so by granting additional member slots. Post and tweet away to increase the size of your party for battle!
• Purchase premium characters and new game worlds!
The in-game shop offers access to 35 famous characters from a number of FINAL FANTASY titles. Each purchase ensures you will receive a new, random character. Which powerful favorites will you have join your party? You are also able to purchase additional game stages from FFVI, X, and XIII. (Bullshit, where's IX, XI, and XII?!) Board airships bound for new worlds where further adventures await!
Sounds like a neat game, I just wish they would expand their mobile market passed apple's devices. Wondering where that third potential troll went? Well, fans have known that SE reserved the rights for "All The Bravest" not to long ago. We we expecting this to be the English title for the current JRPG hit, Bravely Default. Oh well. /wrist.

Maybe one day I'll get to spend some time with you...
