Code Geass: Akito the Exiled - Staff and More Characters Revealed

The offical Japanese Code Geass: Akito the Exiled website (http://www.geass.jp/akito/character.html) has been updated with three new characters and staffing credits. The original characters that were revealed now have voice talent attached to them. Akito will be played by Mayu Irino while Reila will be played by Maaya Sakamoto. The newly reveled characters are Ryo a general for the E.U., the information collector Yukiya, and finally the sword-wielding Ayano.

Anime Expo 2012 Shopping List!

   AnimeExpo 2012 is just a few months away. Tickets are bought and hotel is reserved and now to keep saving as much money as possible to be able to go this year. With close friends dropping out of going this year, it looks like this will be the year of Kaji & Yopo. With this in mind, we won't have as much money as we've had in previous years. 2012 is the year of the budget, so I kept that in mind while working on my hunting list for this year.
   Another thing to watch for is shelf room. Yopo and I have recently combined our collections under one roof, so shelf room is something of an issue. This year's list has a few guidelines to follow. Remember, guidelines are not rules. There are asterisks around the items I don't plan to leave AX without.

Model Kit Review: Code Geass Guren Type-02 1/35 model kit 02

Hi Five! Oh wait, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU~~~*burns*

Code Geass Guren Type-02 1/35 was one of my first few model kits and also my second non-Gundam kit. That means this review is about a year+ overdue. This will also be the first time I use my model kit review format! How exciting!

Out of the Box: This kit comes with the basics: Colored sprigs, small sticker sheet, and a book to walk you though the building process. Most of the pieces come out easily. The only issue I had was the second Kallen figure (Standing Kallen) snapped incorrectly while I was trying to remove her and now Standing Kallen can be repainted as leg-less zombie Kallen. The second figure,"Cockpit Kallen" fits right inside of the built model kit. Both Kallens are one base color and are in need of painting. 

Coloring & Detailing: With this being one of my early kits I wasn't detailing as much as I would probably do today. The main details went into a few choice parts of the suit but nothing amazing. I think that today I would of done a much better job with the details. Kallen herself was my first paint job on an anime character, and it was quite fun. There was a little difficulty with painting her hair without the hair color leaking onto her face annoying. The only other thing I colored was her knife to match what the knife looked like in the anime series.

There are some great colors in the Gundam Marker Zeon Set for Kallen's hair (Char Pink) and uniform. (Char Red & Zion Grey.)

Stability & Movement: Even though the figure is a little top heavy it balances rather easily. Her hark cannon comes with an attachment to show it launching and her arm extends another 1" to grapple onto any orange enemies you'd like her to defeat. I did find that if you leaned the suits arm back it has a tendency to fall, but who in there right minds wants this suit doing a back flip as a pose? The cockpit of the suit can also be set to an open position to show off the pilot in action!

Overall: This was a fun kit to build. Just different enough to feel that I wasn't doing yet another Gundam kit but familiar enough to be able to complete this kit with little problem. I recommend it to anyone who likes model kits or even just Code Geass fans and first time modlers.

Anime: Code Geass New Anime Info & Live Action Stage Play!

   Even though Cable beat me to the new Anime movie, Akito the Exiled, there has been more than just a new anime movie announced. After a good chunk of time hearing nothing about Code Geass (Other then the most recent manga, Shikkoku no Renya) in the recent months, suddenly 2012 blows us away with not only the new anime movie but also another anime being produced as well as an on stage live action musical.

Best of friends, Worst of enemies.

   Titled Code Geass: Majin ni Sasageru Prelude (something along the lines of "Prelude to Sorcerer's Dedication or something. Honestly, I only know the word "Majin" from old Dragon Ball translations.) It will be on-stage in Tokyo late June and feature an all male cast. The all-male cast reminds me of the all female Utena musical cast, even though the idea of a man dressed like C.C. will make me question many things about myself..
   Majin ni Sasageru Prelude isn't the only stage adaption Code Geass is getting! Along with the musical, a stage play that takes place sometime after episode 9 of the original anime. Unlike the musical, it will feature a different cast as well as on stage mecha battles performed on stage. This will be playing on stage in Tokyo from April 7th to the 16th.
   Finally, the new anime production titled "Nannally in Wonderland." In this story, Lelouch uses his Geass power to put Nannally into a dreamlike state to visit her favorite book, Alice in Wonderland. Judging by the art released with this announcement, it's safe to say that Lelouch will be playing the part of the Mad-Hatter.
   I would like to take a couple shots in the dark with some of the following roles, and let's see how close  I get.
